Thinking of buying the grand kids one each for Christmas, they are eight and four, have seen some on amazon for around £50 (sorry cant do links), just wondering if they are any good, they will be playing games mainly to start with, (and I can have my iPad back), what would you recommend please?

Hi Traci66
Do you mean a Tablet as opposed to a netbook ? We are buying a 7" tablet for my grandson this Chistmas, I have one myself and find it very handy. The only thing I would say is check which android os it has - try and make sure it has at least version 4 (called Ice Cream Sandwich) and a decent amount of memory. There are lots on Amazon, just check out the specs before you buy. Any other questions just post back.

Have a look at this one, bit dearer but seems a good deal.

The one you mention does not have the latest android system. The one in the link does. Hope this helps.

jellybean is the more update android since icecream sandwich!the google nexus has jellybean and the new kobo arc will have when it launches 16th of this month, but a tablet for £50?
plus, be aware that any tablet bought from amazon, if it is their product, which is probable, will have pop up ads on it, for instance on the kindle fire and fire hd, and you have to pay amazon £10 for the priviledge of removing the ads and pop ups
