Considering this MPs constant jibes at the PM, was he at all instrumental in getting her accepted as a 'Get me out of here' contestant, and out of his hair in far off Australia?

To be serious though, should a serving MP be allowed to take time off from their duties?

Perhaps he hopes she'll be swallowed by a crocodile AOG !
Seems like a derliction of duty to me (not in the strict US legal sense, of course) and an act of gross stupidity but she is a bit of a firebrand by all accounts. Lembit Opik is a friend and supporter - nuff said.
I am very uneasy about this AOG.

I have opined on another thread about it, that although she reckons she will get her opinions about abortion out to a wider audience, as Eddie Mair said on Radio Four yesterday, how can she make a serious political point with a mouth full of kangaroo's tesitcles?

I think serving MP's belong either in their constituancy, or in Westminster, representing their electorate.

The perceived wisdom is that she would not be re-elected, so has nothing to lose in this dignity-obliterating circus, but that is not the point. She has been elected to serve as an MP for a fixed term, and when it is over she can do as she likes, but for now, she is failing in her duties, and should be sacked for her self-centered lack of judgement.
'dignity-obliterating circus'

That's no way to describe the finest democratic parliamentary system in the world Andy......or is it?
I haven`t read a lot about the details but if she`s using her annual leave to go there then I can`t see what the problem is. It`s up to her where she chooses to go for her time off.
this woman seriously in over-estimating the viewing demographic for this reality show and the editorial bias that will show what they think works.
can you imagine the ex celebrity panel discussing last nights events live on tv?
Katie Price: yeah it was like, proper profound

It could also be said that in these days of celebrity adulation, her constituents will now sit up and notice her, whereas it is a sad fact that most constituents these days could not even name their MP.

MPs are like teachers and have holidays when parliament closes. i think she should give her celebrity fee to charity.
