Who knows? Ebay do some daft things at times!
Is it just for the 'buy it now' ones ? Can't say I've checked.

If not then it may be a simple case of it being easier to apply everywhere than create/maintain something more sophisticated.

Seems strange to me that an auction site wants to seem like a shop anyway.

no not buy it now , just normal auction .
that doesn;t sound right unless you've selected a specific option of payment
actually i've just clicked on the basket icon top right and i have 2 items in there that i am bidding on, not sure why as i haven't won them, perhaps it makes it easier to pay for them but if they finish at the same time that works but if they don;t it doesn't
just found this on the right of the basket list
'Some items will appear in your basket because you've committed to buy them, such as items won in auctions or the seller has accepted your Best Offer. These items will be saved in your basket until you pay for them.'

I guess putting a bid in is a comitment to buy
you can only basket BINs!
the two items in my basket say i am the highest bidder and do not have a BIN option in the listing
oops, mine doesn't do that! is it new?

I still have 3 items in there that I bid on and did not win any of them, I didn,t even know they were in there , I hadn,t used it before , I have been looking through a sellers items with a view to buying several bits so that was why I used the basket instead of the watch list.
