Remembrance Sunday
12 Answers
My contribution for today:-
Hard, sharp frost, November morn
Honouring them who have long gone
Such young men so eagerly went
To fight
And now their lives are spent
Mown down in battle, lives laid low
Now all those crosses
Row upon row.
Proud men march with heads held high
Remembering those whom they knew, die
Now medals gleam on Sunday best
As we
Honour them who lie at rest
And there are those too young to know
Why all the crosses row upon row.
Eleven o'clock, and all is still
The last post echoes o'er the hill
Somewhere, the poppies proudly grow
Amongst the crosses, row upon row.

If you 'Google' Commonwealth War Graves Commission you should be able to find out where your grandfather' s brother is buried. I go in the summertime with a poppy I've kept from the previous November, it's too cold for me in France in the winter (I'm a (young) grandfather myself now!!
