Norwegian killer complains of prison conditions

http://www.mail.com/i...ml#.2396-stage-set1-1

Seems he doesn't like his new pens......

In his letter to prison officials Breivik protested that the censorship of his letters was so strict that his freedom of expression was being impinged upon, Jordet said. Norwegian tabloid VG, which said it had acquired a copy of the letter, quoted Breivik as saying he was allowed to use only a soft and bendable safety pen described by its manufacturer as "stab-resistant" because it yields at the slightest pressure and cannot be used as a weapon. Breivik was seen making avid notes with it during his 10-week trial at the Oslo District Court that ended in August.

What the flunk? Why should he have anything.... Well he can't complain under the EU regulations to ECHR ( Norway not EU)... Personally, I'd leave in a cold, dark underground cell to rot, but then again, I'm not in charge of him.

What do you think?

I think we should bring back oubliettes.

However, I've sneaking feeling, his lawyers will find a place to air his grievances.

Brass neck isn't in it

Mind you, not exactly cutting a hard man role model for his ideology either

I would have been checking out the cost of a single bullet whilst sitting on the jury, must be cheaper than ALL those years in Ila jail at taxpayers expense.
He could complain to the ECHR Nibble, because the ECHR is not an EU organisation. The ECHR was formed by the council of Europe, of which Norway was a founder member.

"The Council of Europe was founded on 5 May 1949 by Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Greece and Turkey joined three months later, and Iceland and Germany the next year. It now has 47 member states, with Montenegro being the latest to join."

This is not to say I think he should necessarily be successful in his claims - its just a factual point about the ECHR :)

Couldn't see a self-respecting case being put forward for him, but lawyers will take a case to get their name noticed, and justice supposedly being blind will go all the way with it.
The bendy pen seems like an eminently sensible implement for a mass murderer.
