For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.You should probably check with the buyer that he isn't expecting the tax disk with the car. If it's a dealer, most can't be bothered with the paperwork these days and allow you to remove the disk.
Does your invoice say 'taxed until .......' on the part exchange? Might be one way to tell what he's expecting without giving him the chance to think about it. If it doesn't, take it and say nothing is the best policy.
