Low cost accommodation in Tuscany

Does anyone know of a source for modest accommodation for three within reach of the Pisa-Florence-Siena triangle in October. I have contaced Dolce Casa in Italy (hopelessly confused and inefficient) and local tourist boards (no reply to e-mail). Prices appear to be rather high (�100 per room per night is best I have found so far) and any improvement on price, communications, or both, would be welcome.
