Occupational psychologists aim to help businesses improve performance and increase the job satisfaction of staff. The work can include ergonomics, time management and human resources management.

Careers in occupational psychology require 5 GCSE's (A-C grades) + 3 A-levels (usually with good grades) to get into university for a 3-year degree course in Psychology. At the end of this course a 'good' degree (i.e. 1st Class or 2.1 Honours) would normally be neededas the entry requirement for a further year's study towards a Masters degree in Occupational Psychology. This would be followed by a minimum of 2 years 'on the job' training.
