Well, it seems like the fireworks fascination doesn't seem to have worn off round here yet this year.

Not sure what kind the local kids seem to have got this year but they are really loud! Some of them were letting some off under a car the other night.

Has it settled down round your way yet? My cat is not impressed.

Yeah, not heard any since last Friday night. Poor cat :-(
There were fireworks going off near here last night. I was informed (possibly wrongly!) that it was Diwali time and those who celebrate it tend to set off fireworks.
a couple of massive ones just went of here, i jumped but murph just carried on sunning herself in front of the fire. i am glad i have a cat who isn;t bothered by them. but i won;t let her out this time of year at night, just in case

Maybe it'll tone down a bit now then - not that I begrudge anyone celecrating a festival though I'm sure my poor cat would like to get some peace and quiet and to go out doing cat things without being scared back in by the bangs.

She was fine before I lost her sister earlier this year, both were as we tend to have quite a few with a large park next door with various festivals and Melas and Bonfire Night displays and such, she seems a lot more sensitive to things since, mind you, her sister was the more unflappable one so maybe that calmed her down a bit.
we live just up the road from the local temple and they have been letting off tons of fireworks. two of my cats don't give a stuff, but the youngest is tearing round the house like she has a rocket up her arse. i do hope it stops soon :-(
Just be aware, jenna, that some adherents may celevrate the full festival of Diwali, not just the Day of Diwali, which will add on some more days until Thursday, i.e
