Hi - apart from the touch screen button on the bottom right hand corner of this tv, is there another button which actually turns the tv off rather than it just going on to stand-by? Thanks in advance.
I recently bought a Samsung tv and that only goes to standby too. Bloke in the store said that a lot of them these days do that but they only use a very small amount of electricity compared to the old tvs.
It's very rare to find a true on/off button on TVs nowadays as they use such little power in standby. I would be very surprised if there is one on your TV. If you want to truly turn it "off" then turn it off at the socket, or unplug it.
As Shedman mentions, lots of TVs don't have a power on/off switch these days. (My Sony Bravia doesn't). Yet Government safety advice says that, as a precaution against fire, TVs should not be left on standby when no-one's around. If they are such a risk, you'd think the Government would force manufacturers to fit on/off switches. Meantime, I switch mine off at the wall socket.
my lg 47"has an off button, bottom one, right hand side, other lg have a switch same area, poss now they have got rid of them, my last tv samsung never had one
I think mydads 42" tv is an LG... anyway, he has an on/off switch, which I found one day by looking all round the tv! It was at the bottom of the tv, centre screen, at the back. His tv is on the wall, so i looked up behind the tv and found the button... very strange place to put it!
