Does anyone know where on the internet I might be able to find some information about possible financial resources for new businesses? Would be greatly appreciated!

You can try here: http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/home?&domain=www.businesslink.gov.uk as a good starting point.

First thing you really need is a business plan - this shos to yourself and any potnetial lender that you have a viable proposition.

If you are looking for startup capital, a bank maybe your first port of call (ususally the one you have a current account with as they have a history of you). If you need a lot of money - ie more than around 10,000 - the bank will want to secure the loan against your property (if you own one).

If you have equipment you want to use, you can lease or buy it - try a broker: www.allianceandgeneral.com

If you are not a home owner, you will find it far more difficult to raise any money.
