At this time of year rescue homes are taking in lots of dogs and cats. This is an appeal not for homes, which are of course always needed, but for towels, blankets and newspapers, which they go through by the shedload trying to keep the dogs warm and dry. Please support your local animal charity and make their job just a little easier.

Thanks for that lankeela.
Would they have uses for old duvets and sleeping bags? Might ring my local one tomorrow and ask them.
Thanks lankeela, never thought of those needs
I'm sure I've got stuff like that tucked away, I'll get in touch with the local animal rescue place. Thanks lankeela
A good appeal

Yes duvets and sleeping bags would be very welcome. Thank you, I am sure they will be very grateful.
Lankeela. When I gave up my massage business...down boys it was therapy.... I gave all my Lavender infused towels and blankets to an animal shelter that had just been vandalised.
They had the calmest animals in the county.
hi lankeela.....as well as having 3 rescued kitties (trying to get more, but mr kicker won't agree!).....i now donate a percentage of my petfood to my local shelter, and knit blankets for bedding too. it is a lovely thing to do and i would encourage everyone who reads this to take time out (even if it is only once) and donate x
I take stuff to my local RSPCA and Dogs Trust and I have a few more things to take. But I do wonder if the smaller charities would benefit more as perhaps they struggle harder than the nationwide ones. Do you think this is the case?
Question Author
Definitely. Although I would say that even though I don't agree with the RSPCA's use of funds for political campaigns and both them and the Dogs Trust have posh offices and big cars, their local rescue centres would be deserving of any donations of goods. RSPCA especially don't fund their local rescues!
That's a good reminder,these charities do a great job,i also have 3 rescues,i've had them for over 18 yrs,over 17 and over 14 years.
