first holiday together

me and my boyfriend want to go away together in june, weve been saving up for ages and was wondering where other people have been and where thay would recommend? dont want to go to turkey as both have been before even though it was fantastic wanted to try somewhere different this time but not a really long flight 8hrs and under if poss.

it would be difficult to answer this without knowing why you thought turkey was fantastic (it is, I agree), but was it the guaranteed hot weather, the beaches, nightlife, scenery or culture that most attracted you?

knowing what you want most will probably help identify somewhere else that's as good.

i loved turkey because of the lovely scenery the great people and thats there was plenty too do. im not big in the nightclubs ive been to ibiza years ago and done all that. looking for somewhere with great weather places to see and nice places to eat out with a bit of a buzz, nowhere too isolated and out of the way.

How about Tenerife? Can recommend the resort of Costa Adeje. Good weather, beaches, things to do and varied nightlife just down the way in Playa de Las Americas. Around 4.5 hrs flying time.

For fantastic scenery and something other than beaches try the Norwegian Fjords.

Cyprus is absolutely lovely. I've been to Paphos loads of times. Weather's great, has a good night life, loads of restaurants, and there's loads of places to go sightseeing.

Zante (Zakynthos) is gorgeous, avoid Lagana's like the plague, we stayed in Argassi and couldn't have wanted a more perfect place to go, go B&B and hire a moped, there are loads of quiet restaurants on the back streets, deserted beaches off the beaten track. We did the island cruise and swam to the shipwreck. Look on www.justzante.co.uk and it will give you photo's and descriptions of all the beaches and resorts.. I have recommended so many couples and they have all thanked me.. think I should be on commission !!

Definitely Zante, and definitely argassi. You will need to be able to move around on the island though so its either car or moped hire. You must check out Kalamaki beach (south west of the island i think) during late afternoon you can swim with turtles! I went when I was 16 but it's still one of my best holidays!

Look at Florence. Very romantic, lots to see/do, wonderful Italian food, fabulous atmosphere and real style. Fly Ryanair to Pisa then take the train from Pisa airport to centre of Florence. Costs about �5 and takes 35 mins or so.

Norway is beautiful and the people are brilliant but is is buttock-clenchingly expensive.

Hamburg is a very vibrant city and has more canals than Venice.

i would have to say that you should look at going to mykonos. plati gailos is probably the best place to stay as it has the bus into mykonos town every 1/2 hour and the boat to the different beaches in that area every hour, paradise beach is a must for those who want a good nightlife feel which often goes on during the day. it is a great place to stay wether it is a chilled out hol or wild club hol.
