The 60s were "my era" and I was a great fan of pop and progressive music (Love, Doors, Hendrix, King Crimson etc etc).
I remember going to the Bath (Shepton Mallet) festival in 1970 and being woken at about 4am to the sound of Pink Floyd on stage.
When you mentioned this song and band it did not ring any bells, however as soon as I heard the song on YouTube it all came back to me.
Funny how we keep these things in the back of our mind but it takes something like this to "dig it out"

I remember in 1967 when Radio 1 had just started that John Peel and Kenny Everrett gave a lot of airplay to 'Pentecost Hotel' but sadly, fail to chart. A stunning single which was a progressive style of classical and rock.
I think this was the single before 'Rainbow Chaser' which did 'bubble under' the top 30.
