as a follow up to my previous post of today, mum lives in a very old bungalow. I think her shower is 8.5 or 9.0 watt. Is it possible if we have to replace the mira shower, to have one with bigger wattage or would this be too much for the system to cope with? Sorry to be vague but it was just a thought as she says her mira which is only about 4 years old is "too gentle".

Could you not have a power shower ?, think you can buy the pumps.
The main considerations for a replacement would be the guage of the supply cable and whatever protects the circuit.
Your electrician will check it out for you.
I know nothing about this but know we had a normal shower converted to a power shower just by buying a pump (fitted by a plumber of course).
Foxy... your Mum's shower in an electric shower. It's fed from a single (cold mains water) inlet. To fit a power shower you would need to bring either a Hot AND Cold supply from your roof tank (or Combi if you have one). You could have one with a built-in pump, or fit a pump separately.

Mira showers are excellent. Their after-sales is one of the best. Before spending any money, give them a call with the symptoms. They have service kits available.
^^^^^ IS an electric shower oops

also ....... 9kw is usually pretty good. You could have a 9.5 or 10kw. That would be a little more powerful, but would most likely need a 10mm cable to supply it. That should be OK. Your present shower should have a 10mm already, unless it's been calculated to be OK with a 6mm. This is very important to check.

Thanks to you all, there is no way she could have a power shower fitted as her bathroom has only recently been done with a grant from the gov for disabled wet room. As my dad is bedridden with cancer, she could not have that upheaval all over again. Thanks to the builder, if I cannot get it going, I have printed off all the contact numbers for Mira, and they have a fixed price repair of £119.00.
