Thanks for asking. It was hard work- of course it's party time for the students when they see it's a supply teacher, but each class settled down after a while and and I arrived home safe but starting to lose my voice as I'm out of practice

I don't know sibton- at the moment it's just one day at a time as the school doesn't know when the teacher will be back.

Do you know why the teacher is off?

No- I couldn't really ask as the students were always listening in but I know the teacher was in last week. I won't know whether I need to go back until tomorrow morning .

do you follow the regular teachers lesson plans? my issue with supply teachers is that a lot of them I have encountered are like glorified babysitters which can be devastating to a childs education over the long term.

Iimagine factor will go in and teach them something their lesson plans could only dream of!

If you can call it a lesson plan, cazzz- when a teacher rings in sick they can't really do more than dictate a few instructions on the topic and a suggested worksheet to be covered, but I feel I have enough subject knowledge experience to be able to deliver close to a normal maths lesson and provide support to students. It's obviously not satisfactory for students though if it becomes a regular thing

I agree dotty and I know he'll have checked what is needed to further their education in the subject

plus of course he's be able to answer any queries about adverts on TV, an essential talent

And he has the patience of a saint, a neccessity in a teacher
