Macafee want me to renew my subscription but at £50 i have decided against it. For the last couple of months i get this large red box coming up in the corner of my screen reminding me that my computer is unprotected and i must renew. It comes up dozens of times a day and is driving me mad I thought they would get fed up but it seems not. How (apart from renewing) can I stop it please?

However when i checked macafee prices on the website ( rather than clicking on the red box) they were 50% cheaper!!! To remove macafee altogether you need need to uninstall it from your computer using the control panel.

In addition, you should download and install the free edition of malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and run it once a week or so, or whenever you think your computer might have been compromised.
