Is it true that babies born through IVF don't have belly buttons? Someone told me last night that he didn't have a belly button because he was a test tube baby, and I can't decide if he was pulling my leg or not...

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.belly buttons are a scar from where the umbilical cord was cut after birth. ivf babies also have an umbilical cord as this attaches to the placenta providing the baby with essential nutrients. unless your friend was genetically modified to use a knife and fork in the womb then the chances are that you have well and truely had your leg pulled. congratulations : )
