Pop-up problems

I'm getting pop-ups every time I click on a new topic on here, its only happening on answerbank, I've just been on another forum and thats fine. I've activated the pop-up blocker but it hasn't made any difference.
Also, probably unrelated, but as I am typing this,the words don't appear until I "nudge" the scroll bar, which is rather unnerving! And again it's only happening on this site, help please!

Oh dear methyl I will now have to admit my total incompetence when it comes to matters to do with computing! The only answer I can give is Windows vista ( I think!) I had assumed it was something to do with this site, as I have no problems with any others. Was hoping for a quick solution!
Guess I will have to alert the other half to the problem and put up with the subsequent pained expression and hours spent putting the problem right :)
