Believe me I've tried to resolve this through security settings and privacy but perhaps I'm missing something? It seems that when I comment on a Group or Page, all my friends can see what I write -now usually I wouldn't mind but there are some groups and pages I would prefer to remain private. I was told at one point that only if a friend was subscribed to a Group or Page that my posts would come up on their news feed -but this is wrong, as my daughter is certainly not subscribed to a page on menopause but now apparently knows all about my hot flushes as its been plastered all over my friends Newsfeeds - how do I make comments I make on other Pages/Groups private?

once group is public your posts are public, I'm saying, on your own page you can restrict your audience of your photos, updates etc., everyone will see what you say in the group because of it's settings

thanks headwreck -this particular site along with most I go on are public but I was told only subscribed members would see any postings. It would be a long drawn out process to restrict all my friends. My privacy settings are on 'friends only' but if I change that to 'only me' then will everything i post ,including on other peoples pages and my own, be seen by just me?

When you make a post if you look just to the left of the post button there is a button where you can select who can see the post.

ok I've been onto the offending menopause Group (LOL) and there is no tab allowing me to keep the post private like there is on my timeline. also the comments I make on this page doesn't appear on my Timeline -they appear on all my friends Newsfeed. FB - Arggg!!!
