lol headwreck. I nearly did that with a coat last month.
I bought it, wore it to an outdoor event and very nearly took it back the next day as I did wonder if I'd need it again! I think I just needed to get used to it and have worn it a few times now but I have heard of people doing this with clothes, especially glad rags :-)

When I started in retail, I worked with a wonderful lady who had spent many years working in Kendal Milnes in Manchester - they employed a photographer who would attend local weddings, race meetings and other posh gatherings.
When the well spoken wealthy ladies from certain parts of Cheshire would return all manner of expensive garb (hats being the favourite it seems, easy to hide the label) as not appropriate, then the sales assistant (My lovely Auntie Nellie) would slide a snapshot across the counter - the lady always took the item and said 'please add it to my account.

Incidentally, using/wearing goods & taking them back as broken/unsuitab
le
is nothing to lol about.
It's fraud. It's possibly worse than stealing. At least the 'honest' shop-lifter runs the risk of paying for his/her crime.
Also, honest people pay a premium on purchases to cover the cost of your crime.
