I live on Africa so sadly I would keep it. If I handed it in it would vanish into the pocket of the officer I handed it to. Rather me than him. But anywhere else I would hand it in.

Cracking answers on this one, Myself, I would thik like a few of the answers who has that money to be foolish enough to loose, I'm one of the old fart bridgade (65) and at times put things down & think, where the hell is that, I'm sure it happens to us all, regards the money, I would think like a few have answered, does it belong to someone that realy realy needs it! does is belong to someone & that's all they have in the world? just think about that, I would prefer to give rather than take ( Belive it or not by some of my answers) I've been told I'm too bloody soft, people have a different way of handling things but at the end of the day, "Honestly" does pay, belive me.

I would hand it into the local Police Station near to where it was found. It could be some poor elderly person with dementia that had gone walkabout. I know personally of a case where this happened.
