Happening in Dec 2012

There are 5 Saturdays, 5 Sundays and 5 Mondays in December 2012 this apparently only happens every 840 years, does anybody know if this correct?

Well, it last happened in December 2007 and December 2001 before that, so whoever told you that is wrong!

Oh dear - the amount of times I hear/read this cr@p lol.
The only criteria needed for ANY month to have 5 Saturdays, 5 Sundays and 5 Mondays is that the month has to have 31 days and the 1st of the month must be on Saturday.
The odds for the 1st of December to be on a Saturday are clearly 1 in 7, so on average, this will occur once every 7 years.

Don't know but it sounds unlikely - it will happen whenever 29 December is a Saturday surely. Like in 2007?

Thanks for that won't see the bloke who told me for another 6 weeks but I will let him know when I see him, that is the world hasn't ended on the 21st Dec as predicated by some people.

perhaps every seven years in the long term but you will have noticed that you/one can't recycle a (perhaps unused) calendar from seven years ago

secondly there are more than one 31d months in a year.


also the months and their days in between are impt.
You could construct a year of onlyl 31 d months and alternating with 28d months

and THEN if the first month of 31 d started with a Saturday then every succeeding 31 d month would
and if it didnt then no month thereafter would

It happens every time the 1st Dec is a Monday so that is once every 7 years not once in every 840. Who spouts this cr@p in the first place and why does anyone believe it when the truth is so obvious?
