How do you become tidy?

I keep the house clean - washing floors, polishing and the like but I'm sat down now and there is clutter all over the table. I just can't be tidy. How do you do it? Are you naturally tidy? Can you not relax until you have tidied? Do you set yourself tasks i.e I'll do x, y and z before I sit down?

Virgos are tidy? Well I suppose there has to be an exception to every rule....

A pretty vase of flowers or a bowl of fruit in the centre of the table is all very well but boring. Books, writing pads and coffee mugs etc are signs of living!

How? Put your house up for sale. I'm clean and fairly tidy...sometimes... but my house was on the market for about ten months. It was a bit of an unusual house with a lot of local history so it attracted the nosy people as well as genuine buyers.
Ten months with a pristine house! Would sit down after a viewing and think.... blimey...who lives here?

If only the two men in this house could be tidy..... On the dining table there's a 6 foot narrow boat, various letters, junk mail etc. a crash helmet and a bag of shallots waiting (for the last month) to be pickled! I keep the house clean but get fed up of asking them to put stuff away.
