Thanks for the link, shaneystar2. As the brewery says "limited availability", perhaps it's not surprising that some people haven't heard of it. I was born and brought up in Yorkshire, still live there, and not far from Samuel Smith's brewery, and I've supped a fair few pints in my lifetime, but Stingo has passed me by. As regards the crossword, I think that the compiler is a bit out of order in setting a clue that is as obscure as this one.
