Can anyone help me, i downloaded skype to my laptop, now since doing that i have lost my hotmail alert and the wee icon which was at the bottom left of the screen, i have now uninstalled skype, i tried to restore the computer back a few days but still no joy, any help would be gratefully received, any answers would need to be in laymans terms as i am quite a novice. Thanks..

happened to me I just reinstalled hotmail do it by clicking this link http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-live/essentials-home

Thanks futritcat, i reinstalled hotmail like you suggested but it still not working, have you any other ideas i could try...

Isn't the task bar notifier just windows live messenger? so make sure you're signed in on that.
