Letting people down...
31 Answers
I have a friend coming round tonight. Someone I have recently met, not a lifelong friend.
However, I have started to feel a bit 'dodgy' over the past hour or so. My temperature seems to be quite high, well my face is burning up anyway, and my head is thumping.
I've just taken some Ibuprofen so they will probably kick in soon.
It's 4pm now and they're arriving at 7. I've recently had a text to say they are "really looking forward to tonight", so I feel a bit stuck. I know they've changed their plans around especially - which makes it worse.
If you felt like you were coming down with something, would you cancel with 3 hours notice or just get a grip, grin and bear it?

Yeah... ibru should kick in fairly soon too and that'll help :c) I'd have to have tonsilitis or flu or have my head over the toilet to cancel with 3 hours notice a person who changed their plans to see me... most illnesses would not make me suffer as much as the guilt of doing it!

Nah, he's gone. I drank half a glass of the wine he'd walked miles in the rain for, took a deep breath, then stood up and said "I'm afraid I'm going to have to call it a night". He didn't seem very happy. Ah well.
I do love my Horlicks. It tastes very malty... ?? If the mug is too big, it gets a bit sickly. I've never had Ovaltine so can't compare. I'll have to give it a try! :-)
