Pretty miffed

I was a band 3 on payscale 3, and now with this new job, they only took me down to payscale 1, on band 2.

I was aware i was going to be a band 2, but payscale 1 is taking the p***. Im really peed off, and will ask my manager why this has happened. As i moved into another job internally, they really should have kept my payscale as the same. I know they are skint, but thats their own doing, not ours, so why we getting punished for it???

Oh I don't mind paying for the NHS it's a fantastic service. I do object to paying for people who don't have the experience or qualifications to do the job.

eh zacs? what's up with your taxes paying for NHS staff? isn't that the kind of thing taxes are supposed to pay for? Are you annoyed you have to pay the wages of nurses and doctors too?

When i was a nurse, your taxes paid for me to be trained (didn't have any experience or knowledge) then when i qualified, you paid for me to be a nurse (with no experience) are you suggesting i should have worked for free for say a year, till i got the requisite amount of experience???

Fair play to Phleb. It was hard for her to take this job and she is training on the job, loads of people do that. I would much rather pay my taxes for someone like Phleb to be working and training on the job than for some lazy so and so to sit on their fat arse, playing on the x box all day whilst claiming benefits (not against genuine claimants, just the lazy, work shy ones).

Bed nobs, you've already pointed out yourself that phleb doesn't have the experience. Comments such as 'hard working citizens who run the place like clockwork, get treat like pooh....arghh' are just delusional.

so because she is training she doesn't work hard? or she is not efficient in what she does? I really don't get where you are coming from, and am sincerely interested to understand your point - please help me!

I don't understand either. People have to learn somewhere and phleb is learning very fast - where else would she learn clinical skills, other than on the job? It's the way they are taught - someone new to a role is taught theory and practice, then supervised by an experienced mentor until they can be signed off as competent. (I know about this particular training, it's part of the role of our team.)

Hey, prior to phlebotomy i was a supervisor in administration. I learnt that as well, and did my job to the best of my ability. Now i have helped someone else learn that before i left and take over it. I am not incompetant as you are implying zacs, and i have paid taxes for a very long time, and if i was;nt training for this job, or if no one was training fot this job, then there would be no NHS, as there would be no workers. Although i am new to the role, i have picked it up pretty quickly and am working unsupervised. They would'nt have left me to do it unsupervised if i wasn't up to the job.
