I have recently purchased a new laptop with W7.
When l log into my Windows Media Player, I can only find buttons for Burn, Play and Sync. What has happened to the Rip button?
Can anyone help on this please. I would be most grateful - Many thanks

It won't be visible unless you have an Audio CD in the drive, at which point it will appear automatically.

Hi Rojash,
Many thanks for that. Unfortunately this doesn't work with DVDs.
My task is to rip our holiday DVD and then burn a copy for my daughter.
Can this be done on wmp?
If you just want to copy the entire DVD, you can use something like Nero or ImageBurn.

This is imageburn:

To use it, bung the DVD in the drive
Run the program, choose Create image file from disk and follow instructions
Once the image is created, but a blank disk in, run the program and choose Write image file to disk.

Thanks Rojash. Have downloaded Image Burn. Your help is appreciated.
Thank you.
Should also mention, that once you have created the new DVD, you can either delete the image to free up space, or leave it there, in which case if you then want another copy of the DVD, you can just repeat the "Write Image" phase without the need to first create an image.
