Incidentally, those children taken by Rotherham social services from the couple who were UKIP members, have sadly now been separated.

/// Today it emerged the siblings have been separated from one another. ///

/// The boy has been sent to live with one family, while his two sisters – a baby and an older girl – have gone to another home.///

/// The couple - who have already bought Christmas presents for the children - has now called on the leaders of Rotherham council to quit after they failed to apologise for what has happened. ///

it was a stupid comment, and he should look a little closer to home to see how many of his compatriots come from one parent families, broken homes.
Before I answer:
Will you stick to your original Q's meaning?
Will you be OK if someone disagreees with you?
Will this descend into a race row?
Are you OKwith people actually posting facts?
Will you accept these facts or just denounce then as rubbish?
it's sad that the children were taken from the foster family in the first place, what i do want to know is how come the children ended up here anyway, does anyone know?
I suppose if UKIP thinks it has any responsibility here it could withdraw the party whip. That is if candidates are subject to party discipline.
You mean the whole party? No!
Winston McKenzie is a great spokesperson for racial equality: he reminds us that not all bigots are white.
rojash, that's what i find so amazing, why is it only ever white folks who are portrayed as racists, don't they come in all colours.
No, UKIP cannot be held responsible for such comments.

As I've said before, if the facts in the Rotherham case are as reported, then shame on the council.
Might children with two daddies who sleep together be liable to get bullied at school?
<sigh>
They might, Dave, or that might happen if they have big ears or ginger hair, too.
UKip as a party cannot be held responsible for this individuals views - but this guy is their culture spokesperson, so you would think he might be more inclined to stick to the party policy.

And of course it does sort of feed into Camerons criticisms of the party, that they are staffed by fruitloops, etcetc..
No, UKIP cannot be held responsible for this chap's views, in much the same way as Labour cannot be held responsible for the views of the well known racist and hypocrite Diane Abbott, and the Tories cannot be held responsible for the criminal wrongdoings of Aitken.
Maybe its whats expected from a Labour mamby pamby council; just multiply that by 300 at the next election to see where we are heading. If more coloured people came forward to adopt there wouldn't be as many stray children about.
AOG

This thread might get a little confusing, because people might (and have) veer off in two different directions depending on the part of the question they're answering.

em10 - I read this story on another link, so I'm a little confused by your earlier post. Did this <insert adjective here> spokesman say something racist?

Regarding whether UKIP should be held responsible for these comments. No, they should not - but it's useful that he did, because it means that UKIP can now state what their policies on gay adoption actually are.

But on the other hand, it should be recognised that political parties are not comprised of mission statements or ideals. They are made up of individuals who have prejudices, ideas, beliefs and convictions that are personal to them.

This man has focussed on the idea of two men kissing and finds it upsetting and has transposed that to the idea of those two men adopting children.

No matter what the leadership of UKIP say, they are not going to change his deeply held beliefs.

I would encourage everyone to speak as freely as he does because they gives us, the electorate the opportunity to vote accordingly.

'coloured'???

Very strange your subdued reaction to pdq1's use of the word coloured, had I had used the same, you would most likely have been jumping up and down demanding an apology or at the worse my suspension.

Confirming my belief that it is not what one says, but who says it.
" had I had used the same, you would most likely have been jumping up and down demanding an apology or at the worse my suspension. "

"Confirming my belief that it is not what one says, but who says it."

Errm... how can guessing what someone might do in certain circumstances confirm anything except your own though processes?
when on earth has sp1814 ever demanded your suspension??
