I'm not familiar with any Philips mp3 players, but when you plug it in, it should bring up a window where you can view files.

Then create a folder on the desktop called 'songs for ipod'. Now go back into your Phillips windows and hit control+a. This will highlight all songs. Right click them and hit copy.

Then go into the new folder you created called 'songs for ipod'. Right click on the empty screen, then hit paste.

Now assuming you have itunes working on your machine, click file>add folder>'songs for ipod'. This should put all your songs into itunes, and then when you plug the ipod in, it will auto-transfer them onto your ipod.

Hope this works for you, and if you need any more help just ask here again.
