02 plate fiesta blower problem

Hi can anyone help my blowers in the car all of a sudden have stopped woring but weirdly they work on setting 4 ,basically the blowerdoesnt work on 1,2,3 but doeson number 4, so i assume its not the fuse and if i was to guess id say it is the swich just wondered if anyone could onfirm this mayb the problem before i get a newone.thnaks for your help

The control Button / slide works on Printed board basis, ( two contacts meeting)It may just need a clean but this involves a bit of removal work on the dash.

I suggest that it's probably the resistor pack for the blower/demister/interior heater. Generally when the blower resistor becomes toast, you will only have ' full power ' and nothing else.

The resistor pack is reasonably easy to get to, but if you're not sure what you're doing, i would enlist an auto electrician. Not an expensive job - get a used one from a breakers.

Its more than likely the resistor has packed up. If you have a wiring diagram you will see settings 12&3 go through resistor 4 does not.
Ive just done mine on a MK1 Focus. Cost me £18 from Fords.

Yep... it's the resister that needs replacing.
