You may also be aware that this is the opening day of the Haggis Hunt in The Scotsman newspaper. It goes on until Burn's Night so no rush. :)

Square sausages - I'd forgotten about them. Someone told me that they were invented by the Free Kirk as ordinary sausages were far too rude and phallic, but I suspect that might not be true somehow!

Happy St Andrews Day, to the country and people that introduced me to wonderful things like bridies, stovies and cullen skink. (But we won't mention Irn Bru; I have forgiven you for that.)

Whats that square sausage called? Quite like that. Some of the ales, like 60 shilling?, and quite like some of the curry houses on sauchiehall street are all great, as are some of the excellent single malts.

Not so sure about haggis though :)

And you can keep those blessed midges!!....
