How many brain cells do I need?
Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to fit a car stereo?I've bought one for my partner for xmas but can't get it fitted til way after xmas for loads of pennies so wondered if we both put our heads together would there be a good chance we could do it ourselves or do you need to be really technical minded????

Are you sure it will be that expensive? It's a ten minute job - why not check your yellow pages for a one-man-band or small garage who do installations, you should be able to find someone, or check the small ads in your local paper.
It is fairly easy if you are replacing an existing unit with a newer model. I have no experience at all and managed to do mine in 10 mins as it was simply a case of attaching the power and speaker cables.

If you go to Halfords they do a replacemet wireing loom. This connects your new car stereo and stright into your current existing stereo plug. So there is no snipping or messing about. Like a plug and play. Make sure you have the tools to get your existing stereo out of the housing. Hope this helps.
