what do you get for that? and why does the game only cost £39.97 while the season pass costs £41.99. that is a bit odd to me.

I assume it gives you all future dlc. DLC individually will cost more than £41.99 so if you are a committed online BLOPS player this makes financial sense.
It most likely will also give some other exclusive stuff too like double XP weekends.
