I used to work for DC Thomson the publishers in my early writing career - pop material for Jackie, Patches, and Blue Jeans.
the company stuck by its original principles - when The Smtihs released their single 'Suffer The Children', the management took offence at the subject matter, and the edict was passed down - The Smiths would never feature in any Thomson publication - and they never did!
I enjoyed my time with the company - never met any of them, they are up in Dundee, but it was a good time.
