To be more precise hc, that should be :

"Free in England for anyone aged 60 or over" - whether or not they are a pensioner.

I've always thought it very unfair that asthmatics have to pay for medication while diabetics etc don't. For years I had to pay for a whole host of meds due to chest problems, quite often having to go without something else to pay for them.

More to the point why aren't all the rest free to those who have paid their insurance tax to the government.

you sound like me phleb. i've been taking it for 28 years and recently my GP really gave me a scare saying that because i had been erratic taking it i had developed a secondary condition which might give me a stroke, soon made mr buck up and take it every morning, did that for 2 solid months but dozy mare i am i've lapsed again, no use to anyone me.
