Hi Im planning on making some batches of xmas themed cookies with my little girl for her to give to grandparents as a gift. I want to use cellophane to wrap them in and tie with ribbon. I just want to know how long they will stay fresh for as I want to make them within the next week or so. Don't really want to be making them a couple of days before xmas. Thanks for any guidance!

If you make the dough you can freeze it for about two weeks, then the day before, or on the day depending on how much time you have, defrost and pop in the oven and there you go.

You can even cut them into the shapes as long as you put them in a box so they dont get squashed. Also it is a good idea to pop a bit of greasproof between each cookie so they dont stick together while defrosting.

This is a good idea I think we will do the same :-)
I'm doing lots of home-made hampers for friends and family. Christmas cookies are one of the items in there! I made my dough and cut out the shapes yesterday and froze them in tupperwear boxes. I will bake them on the 23rd as they only take 10 mins to bake. I put them on the baking sheet still frozen, leave them for 10 mins and then bake them. They should be chilled so they don't spread while baking.
