I was so looking forward to being with them for a few days and they've just been so badly behaved (because they're bored). I've now got one papier macheing and the other is in her room singing Xmas carols. They was even naughty waiting to see Santa this morning!
you're lucky my kids broke up at 2pm yesterday and were given so much junk to eat at school plus about ten different bags of chocolate snowmen, coins father christmases etc, which they had all but eaten by the time that I picked them up, they were mega hyperactive until about 6pm. Im not allowed to send my kids into school with sweets (which I think is a good idea) yet the teachers seem happy to stuff them with it. They finally fell into sugar induced comas at about 7.30.
haha, I hear that all the time from one of my two kids, the other is really good at entertaining himself.
One of the things my mother told me when I said I was bored and I say it to my kids is, You're so luck to be bored. When you grow up, you'll have so many responsibilities-chores, you won't have time to be bored. I don't think it helps but it helps me to say it.
I also tell my daughter that it's her job to figure out how not to be bored, not mine. If she wants me to help her with it, I'll put her to work
