Yes.
i know, they're giving us a higher tax threshold but by the time it kicks in everything will cost more, it's the pennies they chuck at us to keep people quiet that are so insulting but do we deserve any better? thousands of people took to the streets in spain and other euro countries but we just sat back and watched them on tv.
Quote: (Marjorie Pay Hinckley)

“We are all in this together. We need each other. Oh, how we need each other. Those of us who are old need you who are young, and hopefully, you who are young need some of us who are old...We need deep and satisfying and loyal friendships with each other. These friendships are a necessary source of sustenance. We need to renew our faith every day. We need to lock arms and help build the (United) Kingdom so that it will roll forth and fill the whole earth.”

Is it only MP's that get paid and expenses covered?

I think not ...
^^^^ yes but they don't give a wotsit for us peasants.
must go and swop my second home and rent out my London flat.
I'm fed up of seeing my pay rise perpetually frozen yet MP's vote themselves exorbitant pay rises(by comparison), being told that we must all bite the bullet and dig deep while we throw money at other countries like it's confetti!
Let's look after Number 1 and get ourselves on an even keel first before we go giving handouts internationally.
But just because some MPs bend the rules, doesn't mean they all do. Some businesses bend the rules as well ...
We most certainly are not all 'in this together though'- the very poorest people are suffering terribly under this government. I have some tenants with terrible issues some with small children who are receiving food parcels it's that bad, and the new housing benefit bedroom tax is going to force scores of people to move or oblige landlords to accept the shortfall.
Precisely how do they seriously expect single parents, low income, sometimes not very bright people challenged by ill health, sometimes drink drug or mental health problems as well to fare in a society where the idiots in charge expect everyone to be in gainful employment when there are already no jobs for the savvy and able bodied? These austerity measure are a recipes for crime, suicide and a huge increase in drink drug abuse as well as the surfacing of stress led mental illnesses amongst those targeted by this appalling government.
The disabled are suffering, the destitute and vulnerable are suffering, the old are suffering and the children are suffering, but I doubt 'call me Dave' and Georgie Porgie are.
We're all in this together? Are we feck.
well daid nox
sorry typo "well said nox"
Well said NOX. The thing that worries me i is what will it be like when it gets worse still, as im sure it will.
