I'm going to be buying a friend some perfume for Christmas, most likely from Boots as they have an offer on. If she doesn't like it, do you know if I can return it there for a refund if it's unopened, ie still in it's cellophane?
Yes, as long as you still have the receipt and the wrapping is all intact. Check when you buy it, though - see if they will give you a tester sample too.
Don't buy perfume unless you are sure they use it. It is such a personal thing. Safer by far to buy a small set of tester perfumes. Unless your friend particularly likes a scent, and that would not need taking back. Alternatively, give a voucher. I know it seems like a safe bet. Better that than wasted money.
you have no legal right to return anything for a refund because it is just unsuitable, but most retailers will refund unopened items in a saleable condition in the original payment method, therefore I suggest you pay cash, that way anyone can take the receipt in for the refund .
