Just seen the on line weather forecast which says East Anglia is going to be hit by 'The Beast' next Monday. This is a mountain of snow which is going to 'obliterate' East Anglia.
It's me for hibernation. Wake me up when it's all over, will you?
Me too Parkdale, i simply abhor winter. Too many years growing up in the country where the roads were never gritted , if you could get a car to start. Having a rayburn for heating. Make room , I shall be along shortly with ma sleeping bag.
We woke up to quite a good covering of snow here on east coast of Norfolk this morning parkdale .All gone now though .
I'd better get dug in for Monday then :)
A friend of ours who has been to Canada a couple of times, gness, says the Canadians laugh at us when they see how the country seems to grind to a halt after just a small amount of snow.
I don't know what they think when they see us get a real snowfall.
Bless. The days of starting handles - pre personal gymnasium. 20 minutes of starting handle meant you went to work with a certain 'glow' over you and you could tear telephone directories in half. Joan Rhodes - eat yer heart out.
Parkdale......We had six month of snow every year...temp down to -30...made the hairs in your nose freeze solid.
The night my daughter was born we had snow waist high and had to have a bit of help getting to the hospital but we were prepared and took it in our stride.
