I have a golden labrador and I found a tiny spot like thing under his armpit area. It looked like a mole and was bleeding a tiny bit.

Just wondered if anyone knows what it might be and is it worth going to the vet for a check.

Thank you

Yes, if you have no idea what it is it may be worth asking advice from a vet. If it turns out to be a tick, it needs to be removed in a certain way otherwise it can become infected.

In the mean time i would put some anti-septic cream on it..

If it is a tick, the best thing you can do until the vet checks it, is to cover it in vaseline. This will prevent the tick from breathing, encourage it to loosen its grip and not feed.
PS- if it is a tick, you should be able to see a couple of small legs sticking out from under it, but you need to look really closely.

Could be a tick, the start of an abcess, a benign growth....

You'd be best to go to the vet to get it checked and dealt with.

I also have a Golden retreiver and he has about six of these growths on him. Occasionally he catches them and they do bleed. Apart from that they don,t worry him. i have had one removed from his neck as he did catch that one quite often. Get it checked out by a vet.

Hopefully its nothing serious.

Good Luck.
