The Hidden Gun

This is a real long shot and very vague.
French film set in occupied France in WW2. Either French resistance or retreating Germans in a chateau. There is a hidden gun central to the plot but i dont think that is the actual title (it would be a french title anyway Le Gun Hiddene or something!). Very tense and claustrophobic. Saw it very late one night on C4 many years ago - or did i dream it?

My best mate has a degree in french and he is a big fan of it (he didnt know its name either) but i got 8% in my French CSE so he would have to sit there and translate . Its 30 quid on amazon so i might write to channel 4 and ask them to show it again with subtitles!
