They say this next week is going to be really bad with ice frost etc, just a tip, for you, the rubber seals around your car door, put a light smear of Vaseline on the rubber it will stop the door freezing to the rubber.

Cheers TWR --really good tip x
i've had that issue this last week so thanks for that, i've also strated putting a large sheet of cardboard over my front window and the back one too so that the rubber on the wipers isn't stuck and damaged with the de-icer or pulling them free, it's a pain.
Good tip TWR what would we do without you?

That said, I do prefer tips from Viz.

Pretend you're having sex by parking your car in a secluded country lane and steam up your windows using a 'travel kettle' plugged into the cigarette lighter

The best way Dotty, put the cardboard inside the car " On the windscreen" this acts as a barrier, you never see HGVs with their front screens frozen, the reason, the curtains around the cab acted as a barrier, result! Screen clear.

Regards the wipers, wipe the rubbers with Vinegar, the chemicals within the product again acts as a barrier, the rubber will not stick to the screen, but if no vinegar, as Dotty, make sure you pull the wiper up before you even enter the key in the IGN? It might have been raining the night before, you had not turned off your wipers, result, first thing in the morning, Blown Fuse, you have been warned.
Good tip, TWR - but I never turn off the ignition until everything else has been switched off, I didn't realise that people might do it any differently!
Or broken wiper
I just start the car and leave it running at least 10 minutes before I have to leave.

I know TWR but where I live 1 and 2 wouldn't happen and there's no reason for it to stall while idling.
