48 royal marine commando
My uncle (Anthony White ) was in the 48 royal marine commando during World war 2. I have managed to obtain a book by Ken Ford relating to them. Anyone else have any information whatsoever regarding this topic?

My Grandfather served in 48 RM Commando - B Troop. I wonder if he is in the picture? Could someone send a copy of the scanned picture to my email: [email protected]
I have two pictures of a group of Marines during training.

Hi dazzar - I'm afraid I didn't save the scan as my uncle wasn't on that particular photograph. I would suggest emailing [email protected] I am sure he will send you a scan of it! I wish you the best of luck xx
Hi skyep, Hi dazzar.
My father served with 7th battalion RM from April 41 and then passed into 48 RMC. he was hospitalised just before D day. He died five years ago and going through his possessions we found a small photograph taken in Sicily 1943.
On the back is written in my father's hand "killed in france 15th July 1944 48 R. M. Commando. Two marines of 48 were killed that day, White, Anthony A and Dorman John.
I suspect that the photo is of your Uncle, do you have any photos of him taken at this time?If you let me have your email I will try to scan the photo I have.
Dazzar, I would appreciate a copy of the two photos you have of Marines in training.

Hi all,
My Grandad appeared a few times in Ken Fords book. He was one of the lucky ones to survive but passed away a few years ago. If any of you guys have any scans of the 48 Royal Marine commando's I would appreciate it so much. Thanks all. [email protected]

My late Father in Law was also in 48 RMC, name of Frank White - Knocker to the lads. i do not know which Troop he was in, any help out there? sadly Frank died of cancer back in about 2001. I am just interested to find his history through the regiment. I know he was at Normandy and Walcheren, i tok him there before he was too ill to travel.
