I have received an email saying that different computers have logged on to my hotmail account and several password errors have been entered. As a result my account is suspended.

They ask me to give details of name, user name, password, date of birth and country.

It is signed The windows Live Hotmail Team, and the return address is an (alpha numeric)[email protected]

Anyone come across this before and is it genuine? Don't want to lose my account by not answering, nor by answering it
Thanks

This is a spam message. DO NOT REPLY or give out any info.

Log in to your Hotmail account by using your usual method. I would change your password as a precaution.
Try sending yourself an e-mail. Or send a friend an e-mail to see if your account has really been suspended.
If it has been suspended, then you can open a new account with another name.
Or open an account with gmail or yahoo.
In my opinion, I would not reply to it.
No-one -ever-will legitimately ask for you password -the golden rule -if you get an email asking you to go to a site through the email don't do it -never ever give out your password to anyone or any personal details what-so-ever.
It's spam - sounds a bit like the same one my son had it's for high priced security packages, that offer no better protection than Morton or Mcafee, etc.
what magsmay says - don't give out your password. Nobody from Hotmail will ever ask you to.
