Bottle Of Wine To Say Thank You......
27 Answers
Made the stupid mistake of picking up a bottle of "M&S" recommended Sauvignon Blanc (WITH MY GLOVES ON) to give to my cousin's husband to say thanks for doing a job on our house....not realising it's a plastic bottle........£7.99 it was too!
Is it really "off" to give someone a gift of some wine in a plastic bottle rather than a glass one, would you guys think it off if you received one of these?
Firstly what a stupid idea tp put ANY wine in a plastic container (imho), and secondly what a waste of £7.99 if I have to go buy another bottle made of glass.....nae made of money!!!!
Thanks folks

I wouldnt be so snobby as to rebuke a gift of thanks, so IMO it is not "Off" The wine I am sure will be well received despite its packaging, I honestly wouldnt care a £7.99 bottle will be a fairly decent wine.

Ok, if you are worried, wrap it in newspaper or something recycled. Put a handmade tag on, and make ribbons yourself, with a message along the lines of 'happy Xmas, enjoy helping reduce carbon emissions'.
Plastic is more environmentally friendly than glass, and as it is lighter, it is easier to transport, therefore reducing carbon emissions
I was more pee'd off when someone got me a wine last year, where I couldn't physically drink the wine until I solved the logic puzzle!

No, she's staying for quite a while! :c) Her baby is due in April and I'm very excited at the arrival of my next nibling, (other sister has a little boy). I already brought two bibs, one says 'if you think I'm cute you should see my aunty' and the other says 'I only cry when ugly people hold me'... I will be giving those as little christmas gifts!
I agree that it's just a thank you so not a formal give, and I do think I'm being a bit snotty about it, I just prefer glass for gifts.... But that said, if someone gave that to me, it's not like it would stop me drinking the wine! ;o)
