I can see that Twitter might be useful for e.g. artistes who have a large fan base where they could tweet how last night's gig went or how the recording of the new album's progressing, i.e. things which would be of genuine interest to a significant number of people.

But I just can't understand the arrogance of some people who tweet what they're doing every half hour or so. Who could possibly be interested in that...???
Much to my surprise, my NHS employers both tweet and FB....
I tweet quite a lot and have loads of followers.

It depends on how interesting your life is.
^ they must follow the news.
lol craft ;)
thanks, MarkRae. As this was the same attitude that drove people to get websites, I suppose there is some precedent for them in thinking they need to be up with the latest media. Personally, I think Twitter isn't going to be very useful in the long run, but I could be wrong, and they could be right.
No, had a look at FB and twitter, nothing of interest.
No twitter account. No facebook account. I have no interest in Celebs at all. Maybe I'm the boring one.
I think it is a generation thing once again.

I have absolutlely no interest in the minutia of the lives of others - famous or not, and assume they feel similarly disinterested in my own life - but i accept that younger people accept this as part of their daily routine.

I find the word 'twitter' to eb entirely appropriate - meaningless noise.
Yup...Sure.I tweet. And that too interesting as it will get more followers. It will mark me trustworthy which will help my posts.
