Providing a quality of life for disabled people is one of them.
Oversea's aid and housing immigrants in million pound mansions is not one of them.
This government is a disgrace.
They have lost control of the economy and we will be kissing goodbye to our AAA rating next year as a result.
But I'm sure Google, Starbucks , Vodafone , Amazon would approve these cutbacks they are in turn contributing to.
These disabled people are loosing there jobs so they can continue to exercise there right to take advantage of tax loop holes and maximise profits for there shareholders.

I recall you raised this a while ago, TWR- maybe 12 months ago when this was announced. I feel uncomfortable about it too but my understanding is that disability groups support the change. I can't remember the exact reasons but I think they felt the money could be spent more effectively in different ways and it's better to use the money to put people with disabilities into jobs working alongside other workers rather than keeping them in one place. I take it you disagree with the disability groups

Does anyone think that parliament should be cut to show a good example ?
MPs could represent more than one constituency & perhaps share expenses, maybe it could also be arranged for them to share vehicles to transport them to work. Then again perhaps parliament could assemble in smaller premises. Just imagine how many homeless people could be accommodated in that huge building with the large clock.

Good example by the shower of Sht of a Gov "We are all init together" Knob Head Charters a Virgin Jet for him & his side kicks up on thousands, thieving basds finds it depressing because the bitch was caught out fiddling the country out of £50000, these basds spend more money on their pizz up in one night that a family has to live on all year, I hope the basds choke on their fecking Xmas dinner what they have done to these people with L.D. they have taken away their dignity, their hopefulness, their thoughts that they were doing something that was very important, the shower of Basds.
a tip, TWR, a toned down message devoid of the cussing is usually a more powerful message.
Though I have sympathy with what you are saying, to me its virtually the whole lot at Westminster that have to answer for their excesses, their want to burn serious quantities of pounds on their own pet issues. Labour were, in many ways even worse than the current government in this.
And it is not only Westminster, it besets regional and city/town councils too.......
The answer - for a major societal leader (not politician) who is genuinely concerned in philanthropy to step forward and set up a societal fund to keep Remploy going, someone like Branson, Sugar, Dyson, or Green, and even Rowlings could donate £10 - £20 mln out of her deep pocket, but then she is a Labour supporter, so I guess not.

i agree with you entirely, twr....i know several people that have lost their jobs this week. and this came after our local mental health centre was closed after 30 yars of service, where people could learn new skills, make contacts or simply hang out and be creative/purposeful. another example of government incompetence is the esa/A4E fiasco. my husband lost his benefit after a year because they changed the rules and he was harrassed for over another year by A4E as he was 'non-attending and in danger of losing his benefits'. it didn't matter how many times we rang them to complain he had already lost his benefits and they sent us 14 letters in that time. it made him very stressed and upset each time. never mind atos, the 'medical' company that assess people with disabilities (who screw up time after time and seem to enjoy wrecking people's lives) and other fat-cat contracts that get handed out to buddies of the government (labour and conservative). as the slow, creeping privatisation of public services continue, we can all look forward to much more of the same....while the politicians and 1% sit in their ivory towers and give each other more money for doing flump all. rant over! x
